In this Ableton Live Tutorial we take a look at pad sound design, specifically how to freeze a reverb and record it to make lush pads ideal for Tech House, Techno, Deep House and of course ambient genres.
This technique offers a wide range of variations from altering the source synths and samples through to the choice of reverb (we use the excellent Audio Damage EOS here but you can use the Ableton Live built in reverb if you prefer) and it’s modulation parameters. The resulting sound is recorded and used to play chords in sampler ready for automation, layering and any other tricks you might choose to employ.
The next Ableton Live tutorial will be posted same time next week.
