Having been a mentor and teacher for over a decade, one of the most frustrating and infuriating experiences is coming across someone I am coaching who is within touching distance of reaching their goals, but they refuse to listen valuable advice to help them cross that finish line.
They have everything set up and ready to go, have made awesome progress with their objectives, but they just refuse to listen to that one piece of advice that can accelerate them along their journey.
They lack a simple trait that has seen the majority of highest performers in any given field see great success: Being coachable
In this episode I discuss why being coachable is such and important trait for anyone who wants to excel in their chosen field, especially when it comes to music
Key Takeaways:
- The importance and value of being coachable
- “You don’t know what you don’t know”
- Overcome your pride and fear
- “Don’t be a follower, be a student”
- Seek out people who will help you find and stay in the right direction
