As passionate music producers, by the very nature of making music, we can often be locked away in isolation, spend a lot of time alone in the studio, or even share the room with someone while we listen back to our latest project in our headphones
This can sometimes cause friction between ourselves and our significant others, and create feelings of mixed messages towards each other
On one day it will be….
“I support you in your music”
“I really want you to succeed”
But then…
“Your music always comes first”
“You care about your bloody music more than you care about me!”
So which one is it? Are they fighting in your corner backing you up or not?
In this episode I’ll be talking about relationships, more specifically, what we can do when our relationships are sending us mixed messages about our passion, dedication and commitment to pursuing goals with our music.
Key Takeaways:
- “The only person you can control is yourself”
- Show them results of their sacrifice
- “You can’t expect your partner to be committed to your music if you aren’t committed yourself”
- The importance of regular communication to keep relationships healthy and strong
