This Ableton Drums Tutorial shows you how to add groove and bounce to your drum loops and rhythms. This technique works well on Deep House drums, Techno drums and any other electronic dance music genres.
When we think of groove our minds often go straight to swing templates in Ableton’s groove pool. Groove however can also be enhanced by making our notes bounce between one and other.
This technique involves dividing our drum hits into 2 sets and making one set different to the other. In this lesson we use note length and volume linked to velocity but you can use filters, pitch, distortion, drum layering and anything else you can think of.
It’s a very quick technique to use and will give your drums a real edge.
A killer groove is vital in electronic dance music.
The next Ableton Live tutorial will be posted at the same time next week.
