In this Ableton Live Tutorial, we take a look at how to timestretch and pitch samples for playback in Simpler & Sampler or Ableton’s Drum Racks.
Neither Simpler or Sampler have the functionality to manipulate pitch and time separately ie if you play a higher note than the samples default pitch it will play back a shorter version of the sample.
We get around this by using Ableton Live’s Warp Engine and some tricks to quickly create a pitched instrument out of any sample. Drum racks are very useful as we can use macros, apply different effects to each pad and save our favourite sounds as presets for other projects.
This Ableton Live tutorial is suitable for both production and performance.
We will be adding new quick tips regularly to our Youtube, Facebook & Twitter accounts.
The next Ableton Live tutorial will be posted shortly.
